I. Periyar wildlife sanctuary

It is in Kumily region of Kerala. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is the dwelling for diverse species of fauna, avifauna, reptiles etc. The Periyar Lake is one of the major attractions of this sanctuary. You can also look out for some species of animals like Lion-Tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Tahr, Nilgiri Langur and so on. Moreover, you can search out few species of birds such as cormorants, darters, The Great Malabar Hornbills and many more. Anyone can also find out several species of reptiles viz. King Cobra, Monitor Lizards, python and rest of the other kinds of snakes.

II. Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary

Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is about 35 Km from Thalasserry and 60 Km from Kannur city of Kerala. It is located on the western slopes of the Western Ghats in the northern part of Kerala. At this park, you will be able to find out a large number of animal species such as bison, leopards, deer, boar, elephant and various kinds of squirrels. Here, you may also search out several species of flora viz. Vellapine, Toona Cillata, Strobilanthes, Mallotus, Hopea Parviflora and many more.

Best time to visit: From October to June.

III. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary

Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the Indian state of Kerala. At this park, you will be able to explore so many different varieties of animals, birds, flora, mammals and so on. Some of the species of animals are panther, civet cat, tigers, elephants etc. In addition, you can look out for few species of birds like wood pecker, cuckoos, peacock, darters etc. Here, you can also search out several species of flora such as Maruthi, Vengal, Bamboo, Rosewood, Venteak etc.
